It All Begins Here

Take a peak into my work

Featured Projects

A deeply personal commission for a scientist whose world is built on precision, curiosity, and quiet devotion — most clearly reflected in his love for his two dogs.

On first glance, the piece captures a moment of stillness: companionship, loyalty, and presence. But step closer, and the painting begins to reveal its layered story. Embedded within the surface are fragments of a life lived through knowledge and feeling — delicate music staves from “Our Boys”, mathematical equations drawn from advanced study, torn dictionary pages, and excerpts exploring the nature of the dog’s brain.

These elements are not random; they are carefully interwoven with aged mathematics textbooks, creating a textured narrative that mirrors the owner’s mind — analytical yet deeply sentimental. Each layer holds meaning, each mark a quiet nod to who he is.

A painting not just of his dogs, but of the world he sees through them — thoughtful, intricate, and full of love.

Pets at Home

L & F 2026, Bailey Hill

A bespoke engagement commission celebrating the love that binds this couple — not only through place, but through words, memory, and meaning.

Set within the landscape of their engagement location, the piece intertwines layered text into the scenery itself. Dictionary pages, personal wording, and carefully chosen map fragments are woven through the composition, including meaningful locations such as The Roaches, Bailey Hill, and their wedding venue, Heaton House Farm.

Look closer and you’ll find lyrics tucked beneath the fence panelling, with dictionary pages following the natural contours of the landscape — creating a piece where every layer holds part of their story.

Current Project - Pattern in Place

Pattern in Place

A series of mixed-media studies exploring how pattern can be used as a starting point for landscape painting.

These pieces focus on repeated marks, colour blocks, collage, maps, music sheets, and text to build rhythm across the surface. The aim is to create movement before the final image is developed, using pattern to guide composition, direction, and energy.

This project is about testing how abstract marks can connect to real places, objects, and memories — turning pattern into the foundation of a painting rather than a decorative extra.
